Legendary MS Dhoni might soon make his debut on the big screen. The renowned Indian captain, known for his strategic brilliance on the field, is rumored to appear in “The Greatest Of All Time” (GOAT), a high-profile Tamil film directed by Venkat Prabhu.
Is MS Dhoni Making His Acting Debut?
In a recent interview, Venkat Prabhu, who is directing the much-anticipated film starring Thalapathy Vijay, dropped a hint that has stirred excitement among fans of both cricket and cinema. The director mentioned that a scene in the movie will feature a match involving the Chennai Super Kings, which immediately sparked speculation about a cameo by Dhoni.
“We are featuring a CSK match in a scene in the GOAT movie – you know who will make an appearance on the screen…,” Venkat Prabhu hinted, fueling rumors of a Dhoni cameo.
The film, set for a theatrical release on September 5, 2024, in both standard and IMAX formats, has already generated a great deal of buzz. Although Dhoni’s potential role remains vague, fans are excited by the mere possibility of seeing him on the big screen.

“The Greatest Of All Time” (GOAT) is a big-budget Tamil sci-fi film with an estimated budget of ₹300-400 crore, featuring elements of time travel. Vijay, one of the most popular stars in Tamil cinema, plays a double role as both father and son, while the film also includes an ensemble cast featuring Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu.
Interestingly, Dhoni has never acted in a film before, although he has been the subject of the biopic “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story,” released in 2016, where Sushant Singh Rajput played his character. More recently, Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Dhoni produced a Tamil romantic-comedy directed by Ramesh Thamilmani.
